Slovenia is located in Eastern Europe between Croatia, Hungary, Austria, and Italy. It was once a part of Communist
Yugoslavia. They gained their independence in 1991. Slovenia has a population of
more than 2 million people, but very few missionaries of any kind. We see this as a great
opportunity to present the Gospel to people who have never heard even a
distortion of the Truth.
Even though Slovenians are traditionally Roman Catholic, a 2005 Eurobarometer poll concerning religion
found that only 37% of the population believe in "a god." 16% claimed to be atheists, and the
rest of them believe in "something."
More than ever, the Gospel needs to go out to these needy people.
